A roadmap to making most of this lockdown

Covid has left everyone in a fix as to what the new future holds for us. With coming of a drastic change in the working of the world, it has made us to think, “Are our skills really good enough?” “Are we really good enough?”

Stuck at home as a result of the outbreak and imposition of this stringent lockdown has given us time to introspect. It has helped us to know ourselves better and understand our shortcomings and what we need to learn. With life turning into a jigsaw puzzle, we here are left completely estranged. What we really need to know is convert this “depressing” time into something productive.

There are several ways to pass time effectively. Whether it is something you’ve always wanted to learn, restart an old hobby, connect with nature, start reading, spare some time in self isolation. All these will help you bring resilience in you and build a whole new persona. So here is a quick list at your service:

1.Computer Courses: Even Delhi’s education minister Mr Manish Sisodia in his latest speech talked about the need for coding. He emphasized on learning computer languages seeing the current scenario. With everything moving online try learning a few computer languages, coding or at least the basic computer tools. To keep up to date with the ever changing world make sure you don’t lag behind.

There are various free courses provide by online portals to choose from. These courses can be:

  • Ms Office tools
  • Python
  • Scratch
  • C++
  • Java
  • My SQL

2.New language: This tops everyone’s list but only a few can cross it out. With increasing competition in the market, everybody is in the run to have an edge over others. Why not use our free time learning a new tongue? Not only it enhances your chance at better working opportunities it also helps you to separate yourself from the crowd.

3.Rekindle a hobby :

Be it painting, sketching, cooking, sewing or singing, everybody once had a hobby they can no longer pursue due to hectic life of today. Start over. Start living your life a bit old school. It will not only bring back great memories but also help you to calm your mind, make you happy.

4.Start moving an extra bit: Everybody wants to have a healthy and fit body but nobody really wants to do the grind. Now is the time. Get up, turn on the music and get moving. There are a lot of sites online if you need help. You can choose from a pool of options be it: Zumba, Aerobics, yoga, cardio, Pilate or even running pick any you prefer. In a healthy body resides a healthy mind. Mediate. Try it and see the change.

It’s not about bad time, it is about being ready to make any time worth and productive. If you want to have an edge over the rest start now.
